Because you are in control of your life. Don't ever forget that. You are what you are because of the conscious and subconscious choices you have made.
Barbara Hall, A Summons to New Orleans, 2000
Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.
Albert Camus (1913 - 1960) (attributed)
It's been quite some time since I contributed anything to this blog, but for good reasons, I have just been too damned busy with myself to find the time. Work has been taking off, Im scoring praise from my commanding officers and the checks just keep getting larger, which is a blessing because that always comes in handy.
But the true reason that I have been lax in my in depth analysis on life, is I have spent a great deal of time outside the home living my life. I have found a small local irish pub, run by former police officers, where I drink cheap, and frequent often. Now I dont get plowed, it's just not my style, but I can sit in this pub for hours and just exchange stories from the streets with other cops, I have a running tab with an 80% discount, and I have gained for myself a new circle of friends that I see often. These people doctors, lawyers, business owners, and others who have become the pivot of my current state of existence. I have also found a small italian coffee house where I drink my espresso surrounded by the very same people. Be it the beautiful Nicolette or the likes of that mad irishman, Val, I'm finally in an element that I feel confortable in, surrounded by people who know what they are doing with thier lives and know where thier going. I have also returned to Soldier Field and am back as a full supervisor for security thier where my bosses couldn't be happier, I'm as close to cloud nine as I think I can be, and it's good to finally be thier, I have setup several dates with some young ladies, and will be posting the results of them up here so that you all can get a feel for whats going on, look back here soon for another update
